In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the SNES, there's an invisible enemy in Misery Mire that you can defeat using the Bombos medallion. In fact, there are a few of these guys haunting the swamp, but here's a reliable way to find one of them:

In the Light World, use your Flute (aka your Ocarina) to summon your duck friend, and have him fly you to location number 6. Lift the black stone to reveal a portal to the Dark World and hop in.

Once you're in the Dark World, jump down on the right side of the hill and equip your Bombos medallion and use its fire magic. Usually, this will kill an invisible enemy on the screen, as indicated by a small flame pillar. Often, this invisible enemy that you've just defeated will even drop bombs for Link!

Some sources say this enemy is simply a Ku - the Dark World version of the Fireball Zoras. But since it cannot show up in shallow water, it never actually appears in this area.
