The KO #132 - Dreamcast KOF 2000 lacks PS2 "DC version" Practice KO feature
This is footage of me controlling the Dreamcast version of "The King of Fighters 2000" in the game's PRACTICE mode; I've put the mode's settings on the same settings I used to run non-stop one-round vs CPU battles in the PRACTICE mode of the main version of KOF 2000 found in "The King of Fighters: NESTS Collection" on PS2 (here, for instance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZdIc8BG77Y ), which has sometimes been called the PS2 NESTS "Dreamcast version" as it appears pretty much identical to KOF 2000 on the Dreamcast--however, in this current video of the actual DC version, you'll notice that despite running the same settings as the PS2 version, the practice mode characters do not get knocked out when their health is reduced to zero, so the character remains fighting on-screen, and the "RANDOM CHR" "ON" setting is not utilized.
At 2:40 I switch the CPU from "MOVE HARD," the vs CPU setting, to "WATCH HARD," which puts the game into "Watch" mode in which both characters are controlled by the CPU--in this real Dreamcast version, it is only at this setting where characters can be knocked knocked out, and then replaced by the "RANDOM CHR" setting.
This means that you can't run non-stop battles vs the CPU in the actual Dreamcast version, whereas you *can* in the so-called DC version in NESTS Collection on PS2.
On the plus side, the DC version has progressive output (480p0 via VGA, whereas the NESTS Collection only does interlaced (480i).

Recording: Dreamcast through eJiasu VGA cable to OSSC to Framemeister to Elgato HD60
(I didn't yet have brightness and contrast settings for the OSSC's output adjusted correctly in the HD60 software, so the picture here is slightly washed out.)
