The Legacy (Norse Gaming) Episode 8 - Final Battle, Ending, and Credits

If you're wondering where the last minor encounter is, go to the west screen of Gretchen Forest and find the island at the bottom left. You should have a small chance of encountering a Magic Pot, which is immune to all non-bomb damage, but drops a lot of EXP and money. Personally, I would stick with the foes in the Cave of Sighs.
The final dungeon has no random encounters or jumpscares at all. All you have to do is look for a few switches here and there to proceed to the final series of battles.
The 5th entry in the boss section of the bestiary is the Castle Guardian, which can deal fire and earth damage while being weak to plant, water, and earth.
At the top of the castle, it's revealed that Ruben and Ajax were deceiving the party all along due to the royal family being taken hostage. Despite that, the party insists on fighting the Combine, who conveniently forgot to use their hostages to their advantage. This display of bravery inspires Ajax and Ruben to turn against the Combine and fight some of their soldiers offscreen.
We then fight a battle against a group of Combine mooks. Then Zoltar will show up, explain his vengeful backstory, explain that he and Red share a connection due to possessing the orbs, and fight us alongside his Shaman and remaining mooks.
As per final boss standards, Zoltar gets a beastly second form, which has some powerful physical attacks and spells. Once he's low on HP, he might use Absolute Zero to deal over 1500 to all party members. I suspect the damage might be percent based, but it's still probably best to be mostly healed just in case . Luckily, he has no allies this time around, so it should be easy to finish off his 6666 HP.
Zoltar still won't go down and even when he loses his final form, he still blasts the party with a flurry of spells. Luckily, Red gets a pep talk from his parents and finishes the final boss with Omnislash. With that, Red's party is recognized by the kingdom as heroes for saving the Brettonia royal family as well as humanity.
Red visits his grave one last time with Ajax to review all the information Zoltar gave about how the Black and White orb wielders are connected. They also discuss how Red's parents empowered him during the final battle, which sounds similar to Harry Potter's plot, in that he was protected by his parent's sacrifice and love.
After the credits, Red will tell Linnette something, only for the game to cut to Red's room, but we can probably guess what he told her. From here, some post-game content is available.
