It's Linebeck! A real man of the sea.

Here's possibly my favorite Zelda theme dedicated to a specific character! Linebeck is a sailor/pirate who acts as Link's sidekick in Phantom Hourglass, despite initially having a personality that is not so much heroic as self-obsessed.

Linebeck's Theme is fun and somewhat pompous, set in a range translates very nicely to trombones. I had the initial idea to have a large three-voice contrapuntal section in the middle of the piece, which greatly inspired the direction for the rest of the arrangement. This was definitely a test on my performance chops, especially because I recorded it when my alto trombone wasn't available but arranged it assuming it would be! Though I would cower like Linebeck at the thought of performing this live, I'm really happy with how the arrangement turned out, and it was fun dressing up like piratey sailors with as many bandannas as I could find.
