The Nightmare of Rebellion (Touhou RPG): Part 20 (Vs. Arare Yukiduki & Hakusen Tatsumi)
2The second encounter with Hakusen is finally here and Arare is with her!... And in my opinion, it is by far the most obnoxious and exhausting fight in the game so far.
Even with a level 50 party and learning all sorts of skills to prepare the party, so many things can go wrong during that fight. The most notable gimmick of the fight is that both Arare and Hakusen must be defeated on the same turn otherwise they'll cast a full resurrect spell on the one that was defeated. Basically, the same thing you must deal with against Eirin and Kaguya in The Genius of Sappheiros. Perhaps it's possible to prevent through an anti-healing field but it's probably best to assume it doesn't work.
Beyond that, Hakusen manipulates the field to remove HP or MP recovery so you must be sure you have enough MP to remove it. Meanwhile, Arare still has the ability to nullify her weakness to electricity but it's not like it matters much since she's pretty tanky, especially compared to Hakusen.
At least the two are now finally defeated... which means the final dungeon near the school where it all began is finally accessible!
