The Rift Beacons are NOT WHAT WE THOUGHT (Tony Stark, Pandora's Box,...)
393The Rift Beacons appearing in Fortnite Season 3 where first thought to be a repeat of the first Marvel Season and Tony Stark bringing back a POI for Season 4. The random placement was already an anomaly for the original structured approach. This might have been answered now thanks to a find by @AlexLeak__. The newly added VFX added to the rift beacons are named "ZeroPointScan" and we will be activating them during a mission.
It seems like someone is repurposing the power of these beacons to use them as "simple" scanner. This also explains the random placement on the Fortnite map. They are simply someones stab in the dark at finding the Zero Point.
