Our playthrough of Bart's Nightmare, a 1992 release by Sculptured Software. It took us a while to clear it so we accidentally got enough points for the A+ ending as well!

In this game Bart starts in the main dream world, and his health is represented with Zs. Getting hit reduces his Zs until he's out of them and wakes up, losing the game. Wait, if he's awake doesn't that mean he can just finish his homework...? The goal of the game is to grab the eight pieces of his paper in the dream world. To do that, Bart must find a piece of paper in the main world and then complete a mini-game stage. Some stages have one piece of paper, some have two. Completing the game requires finishing all of them!

Some mini-games were much easier than others. Bartzilla has confusing controls in the first part and the manual conveniently leaves out a key piece of information for the second part - You must press a button at the top of the tower to electrify yourself and thus Homer Kong when he punches. Maggie's Temple took us the longest, as clearly seen at the end of this playthrough when I struggle through the second half for some time. It was the only mini-game we hadn't completed yet, and fortunately there aren't any repeats.
