The Sky the Art of Final Fantasy, A collection of three books with imagery focused on the art of Yoshitaka Amano. This review displays book 2.

Amazon has the artbooks separate as well, search, ''Amano art book''. Or the final fantasy ultimania art books.

Similar to the other two this book is the real definition of an art book. It only shows the illustrations, in this case final fantasy 4, FF5 and FF6. There are no artist comments from the man himself, however this does not bring down the quality this collection brings. The second book is the thickest and heaviest of them all with its 275 pages. Final fantasy 4 has 58 pages, FInal fantasy 5 has 70 pages and Final fantasy 6 has 123 pages.

The book starts off with Final fantasy 4 containing many full blown character illustrations, with some really neat monster and boss art mixed in. In contrast to book one, almost all art is coloured in. Final fantasy 5 shows a similar trend, with more really cool environmental illustrations transferring the adventurous style of the game. However in this book Final fantasy 6, takes the cake, the environmental and character art really shows. For instance, Terra has multiple drawings, I even think the most of them all, presenting a shy and peaceful personality. Other protagonists such As Celes and Locke etc also have three to four pages dedicated to them. Even though it does show a bit of monster and boss art, it doesn't show much on the summons,
which I would have loved to see more off. However I can't complain, can't expect Yoshitaka to draw everything. He did however, display his take on chibi versions of all characters. Which is neat. Besided in the last part of the book he shows some additional art as well of these three games.

So as a complete conclusion, is this book set for you? If you are a Final fantasy lover, there is a high chance you like Yoshitaka Amano, so basically yes. But It mainly just comes to.. do you like his art? The answer to this question says it all. Check out the links below if you want to learn more on this book collection. In addition there is a link to reddit video game artbooks as well. If you found this video useful it would be cool if you liked and subscribed. Anyways thanks for watching and Stay awesome!
