130Jujutsu Kaisen is a weird show.
It hits this sweet spot between between familiarity and novelty, and as easy as it is to trace its inspirations, the way it goes about exploring its world with this horror movie tone and the whiplash of its casts’ teenage angst and childlike joy makes even its most played out ideas feel fresh for me, if for nothing else then leaning into that adolescent perspective. So today, I want to talk about all the weird details of Jujutsu Kaisen, and why I think they make it work so well.
