The Witcher 3 [Gameplay #26] - Bonfire of the Vanities
For an open world RPG which is supposedly about killing monsters in the great outdoors, there's a surprising amount of fancy parties in The Witcher 3 and its DLC. While the wedding in Hearts of Stone was a valiant attempt at humor and the visit at Vegelbud's mansion in Wild Hunt delivered ample opportunities for romantic escapades with Triss, Orianna's banquet in Blood & Wine is probably my favorite feast in the game. A distinct lack of annoying side objectives (such as brawling or pig chasing) certainly helps, but I especially appreciated the long and interesting conversations which dominated the latter third of the quest. The pacing is often poor in TW3's dialogue-heavy scenes, but CD Projekt RED managed to build some real tension in the interactions proceeding from the unexpected arrival of Detlaff and Regis.
