Now the shadow pop-in and ugly bilinear shadow filtering is fixed in the supreme to extreme graphics quality mod. Now the lowest possible shadow quality settings equal supreme quality settings (like it should be in year 2020 graphics), and changing the slider enhances the rendering distance significant with highest-quality shadow maps rendered for hundreds of meters ahead, perfect shadows rendered to the horizon are possible (but need 8 GB VRAM on the graphics card, more is better.
There are no pop-ins and FPS-optimizations anymore.


Novigrad unfortunately still has a handfull of hard-coded LOD pop-ins that cannot be changed by graphics sliders and scripted rendering changes alone, but thankfully modders have made a lot of mods for this problem like the legendary non-FPS-optimized highest quality Novigrad castle wall from the E3 demo 2014, non-FPS-optimized highest quality LODs in Novigrad for longer distances (to prevent roofs chimneys and other random details to disappear and pop-out ten meters ahead of Geralt), and other mods. (I have implemented them all).



The clouds are now of highest 4k quality, and the weather effects are improved with random foggy days, better thunderstorm effects with flying leaves and lot`s of fog surrounding the old villages and ghost towns to enhance the dark fantasy mood and atmosphere.

The weather improvements to make the game more autumn-like and darker and more omnious and dark fantasy style like, like the ground fog while it`s raining, the flying tree leaves and other eye candy, plus one of the 4k cloud packages, is part of the Phoenix lighting mod.
