Greetings everyone.

In this video I'm going to make a comparison between fighting with a gamepad and using the more traditional PC approach of keyboard and mouse.

I chose a boss fight, as you can see, since I needed some consistency to show all the different things and differences between both control methods.

Playing with the gamepad feels really comfortable, as it's meant to be anyway. The main disadvantage, in my opinion, is the camera movement. I'm a PC gamer mostly and my hand is used to move the camera in games with a mouse, it feels natural to me; with the gamepad, my response time when moving the camera is a bit lower, because of this.

Another disadvantage when using the controller is the fact that you need to use the skill wheel-menu to access a particular sign you want to cast. This is not the case with mouse and keyboard, because the key mapping options allow us to bind individual signs to any key or extra buttons on the mouse; Keep in mind, though, there's no instant cast by pressing said key binds, sadly, you still need to press the key to switch to that sign, then press a different key to actually cast the sign but, overall, this is done way faster than using the gamepad, for sure.

If you feel you want to precisely aim with your bombs or crossbow, the mouse is also a superior choice here, but anyway the game offers some sort of auto aim feature for this, so in general just by quickly pressing the RB button in the gamepad the bomb or the bolts will go to the target you're facing, especially if it's not moving much.

The gamepad offers vibration of course, which is cool to have when exploring the world because usually means we need to activate our witcher senses and see what's going on.

All in all, I play the game using both control methods because switching between one and the other is pretty simple.

Hope this video was interesting to some of you and if you want to share with everyone which control method you like most please do so in the comments, and see you next time : )

PS: You can still cycle through signs with the gamepad by pressing left or right D-Pad buttons while you're parrying (LT), but it's still not as fast as key binds using mouse & keyboard.
