Rapid progress in Afghanistan has seen big changes for one artillery regiment that was once one of the busiest units in theatre.

Compared with previous tours Op Herrick 17 has been a quiet one for 4th Regiment Royal Artillery.

As the campaign in the country transitions from a combat one to an advisory role, with withdrawal just around the corner, there has been less need for the firepower that guns provide.
