A 21-gun and 41-gun salute has been fired to mark the 61st anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne.

The Royal Navy's saluting gun at Fort Blockhouse at Gosport -- at the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour -- was fired at noon by four specialist gunnery instructors from HMS Collingwood at Fareham.

Meanwhile in London soldiers, horses and guns from the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery gathered in Green Park for a special 41-gun salute.
