This Bug COULD Spawn Zeds in Your Base - Project Zomboid
751In this video, we'll be discussing a bug that's causing zombies to spawn inside player-built bases, even when they've been properly blocked off, AND how to fix it!
The issue stems from building walkways over walls, which causes some segments of the blue barrier line on the Zombie Population Map (ZPM) to disappear. This leaves gaps where zombies can spawn, even if your base is otherwise secure.

We'll explore three potential fixes for this issue. The first fix involves building floors underneath walkways after they've been placed, which seems to reset them. The second fix is to place furniture, such as a player-built chair, next to each segment of wall. Finally, if you're playing solo, the most efficient fix is simply to reload your game. If you're on a persistent server, the furniture solution might be the most time-efficient and cost-effective method (could be wrong, let me know if you have something better).
If you're experiencing issues with zombies spawning inside your base, be sure to double-check all walls and avoid using tall metal bar doors. With these tips in mind, you can keep your base safe from zombie attacks and ensure that you can continue surviving in the apocalypse.
