๐ซ๐ท Thomson MO5: Part 2
So, the machine works! The Sony RDR-HX900 DVD/HDD Recorder I'm using has two SCART sockets ... one for TV and one for Decoder. I had been using the TV (Line 1) as it indicated two-way and was still getting just a blank screen, even when switching to composite output.
I tried the Line 3 Decoder socket ... and it worked!
Thanks to @michaelturner4457's comment which made me re-check things.
I'll try the RGB output next time.
I was pondering how to get the BASIC keywords printed on the keycaps ... just watching the video back ... duh ... I expect you would hold down the BASIC key and press the key you wanted. Simples.
Unfortunately I think that's about as much as I can do for now ... it seems the Thomson's cassette interface expects a bitstream already decoded by the cassette recorder, similar to the Commodore.
As per the video description in Part 1, there's some neat looking Open Source hardware expansions available so I will try to get some. I'm also trying to source an MO5 cassette player (from France) but they're reluctant to send to Australia (postage costs more than the cassette player does ... but that's the price for living in Port).
Let's see.
