Because... y'know, better late than never, right?

I don't know what it is about these kinds of "mini" projects, but they cause me no shortage of bizarre and seemingly fresh one-off encoding issues and bizarre nonsense that is difficult to predict, harder to draw a direct conclusion on how it gets fixed, and the end result is an even more jankily-fixed mess of nonsense than I'd care to admit.

In short, the Splatsville postbox is cursed.

Just in time for another all-new one! ... ... ....there's already a suspicious number of hearts on THIS one...

---

And, since it's not really feasible to show a time lapse of how the thing was built in-game (maybe someday I'll figure out some insane methodology?), instead I can devote most of this video to a behind-the-scenes peek into how I turned monochrome scrawl into dot matrix with stereo sound.

The real question is WHY I ever thought it'd be remotely sane to try to channel HIrohiko Araki's signature textured shadows or a cross-hatched ice cream cone into 1/10 scale nightmare pixel density.

The hand was also not fun to figure out, but hands are rarely fun anyway.

Mini-Cream munching on vanilla swirl WAS surprisingly fun to come up with, even as I struggled to render its almost robotic details into miniature scale, even before it got shrunk down to near-meaninglessness.

The last-second revisions to final post were about half and half "oh, this doesn't really look right anymore" versus "there's no way I'm going back and FIXING that"...

... ... ...and also I have no idea what I was thinking when I started shading the crotch of his leotard, then gave up and just threw a few weird lines on it. THEN eventually had to reckon with the fact that it now contained some rather suspicious bulges.

The subconscious is a weird thing, huh?
