About Game: TimeSplitters: Future Perfect (also known as TimeSplitters 3) is 2005 First-Person Shooter video game developed by Free Radical Design and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube. It is third and final installment in TimeSplitters video game series and serves as a direct sequel to 2002's TimeSplitters 2. Upon release, the game was met with generally positive reviews, having even won IGN's "Best of 2005" award in the First-Person Shooter category but despite that, it shared the same fate as its two predecessors and today remains somewhat obscure game with strong cult following. In 2007, it was announced that Free Raical Design has started a development on fourth TimeSplitters game but following the critical and commercial failure of their 2008 PS3 launch title Haze, Free Radical was bought out by Crytek and officially ceased to exist in 2009 after being officially reformed into Crytek's UK branch, seemingly ending the series for good. However, in May 2021, Free Radical was reformed by Embracer Group which has acquired TimeSplitters' series licence in October 2018 with reformed Free Radical announcing that they will start development on new TimeSplitters game soon. In addition to this, a fan project called TimeSplitters Rewind was launched in 2013 as an attempt to create an unofficial series remake which would combine elements of the entire TimeSplitters trilogy whose development is still underway as of November 2022.
Story of the game is set in the year 2401, continuing on immediately after the ending of TimeSplitters 2 and follows a Space Marine known as Sargeant Cortez as he returns to Earth after successfully destroying TimeSplitter-infested space station and stealing the time crystals used by TimeSplitters to travel through human history and alter it. However, as he re-enters the planet's atmosphere, Cortez learns that a large horde of 'Splitters has launched an assault on Space Marines' headquarters. To make matters worse, Cortez's spacecraft is hit by a stray laser, casusing him to crash-land in a canyon near Marines' headquarters. Surviving the crash, Cortez is found by a group of Marines which escorts him back to base with the group being attacked by mysterious hooded people. Managing to fend them off, Cortez and Marines reach the headquarters with Cortez managing to enter the base and make contact with his superior known as The General who takes him to the base's time machine chamber and introduces him to Marines' chief science officer named Anya. Afterwards, Cortez is given a new assignment; Use the Marines' time machine powered by the stolen time crytals in order to travel back through time, locate the origin point of the time crystals and destroy them before TimeSplitters can ever use them against humanity, ensuring that the war between humanity and TimeSplitters will be erased from history. With the crystals' energy residue having been tracked down to Urnsay, a small Scottish island that was destroyed in 1924, Cortez is sent back to the island on the eve of its destruction in order to find the crystals and destroy them...
