Mission: Capture the Sentinel Commander alive.
Briefing:
Ever since the company's birth, Buchan Aberdeen has taken part in all of Sentinel's operations. He has had a success rate second to no other member of the PMC, is fluent in 5 languages, is well travelled and never gets sick at sea. In short, he's one of the most successful members to date, so much so that the company itself considers him to be an icon.
His career in the service dates back to his last days as an elite member of the Special Boat Service, or SBS, until he retired in his late 20s to join the PMC. Ever since, he has seen operations in most countries in the Middle East, where he had the opportunity to perfect his Arab and Farsi, as well as in Libya, Mozambique, South Africa and Mali. Although he has met and worked directly with both Walker and Stone in different parts of the world, his post in Auroa is only recent, as little as two weeks. Sentinel's drawback with both the Outcasts and you Ghosts has brought them to a desperate point and they hope his presence will turn the tide in their favour.
And they may have even been right, but unbeknown to them, Buchan has also been and informant for the Britain's Mi6.
His change of heart occurred during an assignment in Lesotho, as he witnessed first hand the atrocities committed by Sentinel and other of their affiliates, most notably by the interrogator Ilsa Herzog. When he figured he would suffer the same woman if he left the company, he eventually managed to approach a member of Mi6 in an attempt to fake his death and leave the PMC indefinitely. However, the British Intelligence had a different plan for him: keep his career going, while remaining an informant for them in the ever growing Sentinel threat. Buchan reluctantly agreed, mostly because he knew he didn't have much of a choice.
Now, however, the situation has changed. His move into Auroa has lifted the spirits of many in Sentinel, but there are few in the chain of command who have grown sceptical. Intel has learnt that some Sentinel Commanders in high places have grown suspicious of Buchan. His transfer to the Archipelago was a means to control him, thanks to the curfew and Sentinel's grip on the island. Since Mi6 have lost contact with their asset, they are now fearing the worst. They have therefore contacted the CIA, who in turn have come to us, to set off an operation to rescue him.
The operation will take two stages. First, you will need to shutdown Sentinel's long-range comms in the Sinking Country. This will buy us some time while we then rescue the Commander who's currently posted at the Anti-Aircraft Ruins facility. The Outcast have already cleared the enemy at the Antenna, but it'll be your job to hack into. We fear it may have a fail-safe system, so expect an enemy QRF, most likely airborne. Once that's completed, head into the complex and 'kidnap' the Commander. The operation needs to look as legit as possible, so if a firefight ensues, Buchan will shoot at you. Make sure you take him down in a non-lethal manner if this were to happen.
Mi6 has promised to help defect the Commander once we rescue him, while the CIA will help in publishing fake stories of a well known Commander killed while serving time in a maximum-security prison. Let's get this man the freedom he deserves.
Good luck, Ghosts!
