Alpha Omega is the penultimate map in the Aether storyline. Here’s five things it did right.
#5: Alpha Omega has a lot of deep references and callbacks to some of the more obscure elements of the story. The lore fans were thrown a big bone to chew on.
#4: Alpha Omega has strong wonder weapons. The concept of a modified Ray Gun Mk. 2 may be cheap to some, but you can’t deny these are powerful weapons for casual and serious games.
#3: Rushmore is a great character. He adds the only charm into an otherwise dull map.
#2: Rushmore also has a variety of codes you can enter to get bonuses to progress faster, trigger lore quotes, or even activate Easter Eggs of their own. It’s a nice addition for players in the know, but not something you absolutely need to play the map casually.
#1: Alpha Omega is the first and only map to feature eight different playable characters as part of a crew. Seeing Ultimus and Primus interact outside of a cutscene is not only interesting but the only innovation the map brings to the table.
