Zombies Chronicles was the perfect end to BO3 Zombies. Here’s five things it did wrong.

#5: Since its release Chronicles has been bundled with the base game on all digital platforms. While it’s nice to not make two separate purchases, it is inflating the price of the game. If you just wanted to come back to play the campaign or multiplayer for some reason, you’re wasting even more money.

#4: I didn’t want to get into the fine-details of every map for this, but one change I have to complain about is the Staff Glitch on Origins being patched. This made the worst step of the Origins Easter Egg completely unskippable, adding at least half an hour to anyone trying to beat the Egg in Black Ops 3 and instantly sending all speedrunners to the original version.

#3: Chronicles didn’t carry over the weapon sandboxes of the original maps. While many weapons are returning, new ones are also mixed in, and the old weapons were modified. While many of the changes are for the best, it’s undeniably different from the original.

#2: Chronicles was the high point for the entire Zombies franchise, and it’s a shame it was subject to console exclusivity. I get that Activision's execs need money for a third mansion, but keeping Xbox and PC players out for a whole month felt especially cruel this time.

#1: Going back to the weapon sandbox, PhD Flopper didn’t return in Ascension, Shang, or Moon. This makes the maps feel even more different from the original, and not in a good way this time. There’s no reason it couldn’t have featured at least on these three maps.
