Train Simulator 2019: Off to Coniston with 828
In this video, I drive the Caledonian Railway 812 class from Foxfield to Coniston, on a fictional route called The Coniston Branch. This route and is available on UKTrainSim, and is labelled as a UKTS Freeware Pack.
Along the way, we stop only at Woodland and Torver. The reason why I skipped Broughton station is because there is a 1 in 27 uphill grade immediately after leaving the platform, and I didn't want to stop at the station, start again, and risk stalling on the hill.
The line starts in the relatively flat piece of land surrounding Foxfield station. Immediately after leaving Broughton, the line begins a gradual climb into the mountains, reaching the summit at Torver station. From there it's a 1 in 119 to 1 in 52 descent, a short stretch of level track, then one final 1 in 53 to 1 in 85 climb into Coniston station.
Along the way, we see the following engines:
S&DJR 7F class 2-8-0 No. 53804 (otherwise known as Battery Sergeant Major Lawl)
Midland Railway 3835 class 0-6-0 No. 43924
NZR WB class 2-6-2T No. 299 (for some reason)
LMS 5MT 'Black 5' class No. 45156 'Ayrshire Yeomanry'
LMS Stanier 0-4-4T No. 1900
LSWR Adams O2 class 0-4-4T No. W35 'Freshwater'
The specific member of the 812 class that I was driving was 828, which is the only 812 that has been preserved. She is based at the Strathspey Railway in Aviemore, and was made for Train Simulator by Victorian Lad. The 812 class is available from the Digital Traction website.
