Train Simulator 2019 | Class 485 Standard Stock on the Isle of Wight
This is a run on the Isle of Wight route, going from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin - a distance of 8.5 miles. The train I was driving on this run is the Class 485, otherwise known as 4-VEC. These were ex-London Underground Standard Stock units that - alongside the Class 486 or 3-TIS - ran on the Island Line between 1967 and 1992. They replaced the LSWR Adams O2 class steam locomotives, and were themselves replaced by the Class 483's in 1992. The 483's are ex-1938 tube stock, and they had already been working in London for around 50 years before coming to the Isle of Wight.
For this journey I decided to set myself a challenge. That is, to drive from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin without the Heads-Up-Display, or HUD. In other words, I decided to try doing what PTGRail always does. Will I pull it off, watch the video to find out?
This is scenario that I made, and you can find it - as well as the Standard Stock - on UKTrainSim. As for the Isle of Wight route, it's available on Steam. This was the very first DLC I ever bought for Train Simulator, all the way back in December 2013.
