In this only slightly late edition of Free Play Friday, we hop into Trials of Fire, a game that just recently left early access but is able to stand toe to toe with other great deck building card battle games. In this game, you assemble a party of adventurers and go on a quest across a map, helping or hurting people along the way and getting into fights on a hex based strategic map. The whole package ties together very well (except for maybe the "book" presentation, which is not my cup of tea. I haven't seen a lot of fanfare about this game, but I've been enjoying what I've played so far and it can definitely stand toe to toe with Slay the Spire or Monster Train. Even if I'm sitting here missing plays and not knowing what I'm doing. Enjoy!
