Trying Technos Collection 1 (Part 1) [Evercade #51]

So I've been avoiding this one for a while. For two reasons: 1) the genres are my least favorite; 2) I had some bad experiences with Technos Arcade 1 cartridge prior.
But this was a very pleasant surprise!
I'm not sure why, but the NES Double Dragons are much more enjoyable to me than the arcade games. It's not just the Turbo functionality either - I think it's the music, the look, and the overall charm of the NES games here. And Renegade wasn't much different from the Double Dragon games, so I don't have really anything specific to say about it here.
The only one here I have specific comments about is Crash 'n' the Boys. The story is...over the top and convoluted but also a tad hard to sit through (we have to remember it was a different time back then and a lot of abuse was just seen as 'tough love' and all that).
The gameplay of it is intriguing, though it didn't really fit well in a 'try it blind for the first time' recording experience, but it is what it is for the video. It's an interesting game and I'm definitely going to check that game out some more.
Overall, I'm enjoying this collection so far and am less reserved for the second half. :P
