TTV3 (Trip to Vinelands 3) (PC(W))
(Version: 2019 Jul 18)

676 consecutive screens completed!
(win streak: 6)

So... TTV3 is the third of Walter Machado's "Trip to Vinelands" games. And IMO it's the most fun of the three. =)

Compared to the previous two games, TTV3 has a faster pace, a greater variety of procedurally generated screen types... and your starting location is essentially the same on every screen, which means instead of spending precious time looking for your character, you can just immediately start focusing on trying to figure out a safe path. =)

To complete a screen, you just have to make it to the edge of the screen without hitting (or getting hit by) any hazards. And making it through 100 consecutive screens counts as a Win. The game doesn't keep track of win streaks (just your total number of wins)... but just for fun, I'd been keeping track of mine. ^.^

A while back, I somehow managed a 6-streak... but unfortunately, I wasn't recording at the time. =p But I figured if I managed it once, it shouldn't be too hard to manage it again... right? ^^;;

Umm, long story short, it took a while to get another 6-streak... but this time I made sure I was recording! So here it is... my second ever TTV3 6-streak! Hope you enjoy!

Some notes and possible points of interest:

- Some general notes on strategy: In general, I tended to try to use the following tendencies: 1) Find a path upwards whenever possible, 2) If something large is rotating, it's often best to move in the same direction as the rotation, 3) If there's a gap in a large gear, that's often a safe place to be as you make your way to the edge.
- Of course, these won't always result in the best paths, so some decision-making on the fly will still be required! Playing the game a lot and learning to recognize some of the base screen designs will help with this, even if you don't always know the procedurally-generated details of a particular screen.
- Oh, as far as moving upwards in general... this definitely won't always result in the right path (the run actually came to an end because of this!), but I adopted this tendency mostly because it made pathfinding a lot quicker in general! Instead of looking at the entire screen and thinking "Okay, what's the best path?" I could just look at the top half of the screen and think "Okay, is there a path upwards, even if it isn't the safest path?" I suspect using a "moving downwards" tendency instead would have similar results for similar reasons (though I haven't tested this myself). ^_^

0:02 (0) As far as I know, the first screen is always the same, so choose whichever direction feels most comfortable for you (the starting location in this screen is perfectly safe, so you can study the layout for as long as you want!).
0:04 (1) For these, the bottom path often looks more dangerous... but it's usually the safer path! I took the bottom path here, but I often take the top path when I see these. ^^;

3:12 (100)
4:58 (45) For these, if you recognize it quick enough, there's a gap in the upper left for a short while. Otherwise, you can stay near the center of the rotating hazard, and follow the rotation right, down, and left... and if I recall correctly(?), you should be able to find a safe path down from there.
6:15 (85) Eep! Run nearly ended here. =p

6:44 (200)
7:21 (14) For some reason, I have trouble recognizing these quickly. =p Probably a combination of the rotation direction and my "upward" tendencies. =)

9:55 (300)
11:28 (43) Honestly, I'm not sure what I was thinking here. ^^; The safe path is to follow the rotation to the right then go down... but I took a much riskier path instead. ^^;;
11:40 (51) This is another type I have trouble recognizing quickly. =p The "safe" path is just to stay in the starting area and wait for the top to open up. ^^

13:11 (400)
16:28 (89) Ref: screen 351 (11:40). This is the "safe" path. ^^

16:51 (500)
17:49 (25) I like these. The "safe" path is pretty slow... but that does give you a chance to kind of catch your breath a bit. Which is especially nice on long runs. ^_^
18:18 (36) Ref: screen 343 (11:28). This is the "safe" path. ^^
18:51 (54) Eep! Where did that come from? Uh, let's go up instead! ^^;

20:22 (600)
21:14 (22) Ref: screen 1 (0:04). =p
21:40 (33) Still not sure I recognize what this was... but I did somehow make it through! ^^;
23:02 (76) Probably should've gone down instead of up. =)
