IMPORTANT NOTE - THE NETWORK SETUP PROCESS HAS CHANGED NOW FROM WHEN I FIRST RECORDED THIS AND THIS INFORMATION IS NOW OUTDATED - YOU CAN SEE A NEW TUTORIAL HERE:
https://youtu.be/tand0tIZ47w

In March 2021, a new simulated netboard option was developed by one of the Supermodel forum members that now runs the Supermodel link-up games at full speed, which replaces the old network I'm demonstrating. The basic principle of how you get the new network working is more-or-less unchanged from what I demonstrate in the video, but the information to configure it in the 'Config ini' file is slightly different now. The simulated netboard has now been incorporated into the official Supermodel builds and works in such a way that you can now select which netboard (i.e the old one or the new one) you wish to use in the options.

In the config ini folder 'EmulateNet', which I mention in the video, has been renamed to 'Network'. There is also a new option in the config ini file, called SimulateNet which must be set to '1' to use the simulated netboard (it is by default), otherwise Supermodel will use the old emulated netboard. Both require that Network=1 otherwise neither netboard will be used! This means as well that you *no longer need the -no-threads command in your batch files if you are using the new simulated netboard.*
You can download the latest official Supermodel build from here: http://www.supermodel3.com/Download.html

(Original description follows, I've left the info about -no-threads intact in it, as I don't want to confuse things and this IS still the way old network works. If you're using the new simulated netboard though, you can leave that bit out.)

Copy and past the following info into your batch files, add the address to your Supermodel folder between the quotation marks. Do this for both Player 1 and 2.

start /D"address to your folder here" supermodel.exe -no-threads name-of-your-zipped-game-here.zip

So it looks something like this:
start /D"C:\Users\Alex\Desktop\Games\Supermodel\P1" supermodel.exe -
no-threads scud.zip
start /D"C:\Users\Alex\Desktop\Games\Supermodel\P2" supermodel.exe -
no-threads scud.zip

Have a read through the 'Supermodel advanced usage' section of the Supermodel homepage for further commands you can use in your batch files.
http://www.supermodel3.com/AdvancedUsage.html

Create a batch file and put the following in it to configure a Dinput device
supermodel -config-inputs -input-system=dinput

Change it to Xinput for a 360 pad
supermodel -config-inputs -input-system=xinput

A batch file that I'll typically use to start a 1 player game of Daytona USA 2: Battle on the Edge when I'm using my racing wheel will normally look like this:
supermodel daytona2.zip -input-system=dinput -force-feedback -fullscreen -ppc-frequency=55 -balance=100 -music-volume=100 -sound-volume=90 -wide-screen -res=1920,1080

(I've just noticed in my old one player batch files I haven't got the .exe bit added to the end of Supermodel, and it doesn't affect the game loading up correctly)
