The Defence Secretary says the UK must keep all its Trident nuclear submarines if the country's nuclear deterrent is to be preserved. Dr Liam Fox has told a TV documentary that the Trident nuclear programme requires a fleet of four submarines. Reducing the number means taking an increased risk in the UK's ability to deploy the deterrent at all times. The BBC Scotland documentary 'Who Needs Trident' will examine whether the weapon is still relevant.
