UNEXPECTED Changes Coming in Phase 3 TBC Classic WoW
PTR is UP for Phase 3 – and we’ve got some absolutely unbelievable changes.
Tons of vendors have been added to the PTR to get your resist gear, tier gear, enchants, and learn all your skills or respect all at Ad’al in Shattrath.
Netherwing Reputation Quests are now available for testing and of course that means netherdrake mounts are coming in phase 3 if you’ve got the chops to grind the rep.
But these changes are expected. But what’s unexpected on the PTR are some changes from how TBC originally was.
There are signs that we may be getting a NEW MODEL of the Succubus pet – the Male version known as the INCUBUS. We can see that the warlock talents have all had their tooltips updated where it mentions succubus to also now mention Incubus. Talents like Fel Stamina, Fel Intellect, Unholy Power, Master Demonologist, and more.
It looks like that’s the extent of the incubus being in the game, but one can only speculate if this is just a mistake on blizzards end, or if this will actually be coming to TBC.

In the data for patch 2.5.3 there are new quests and items one called Incubus Quest Summon, Avelina’s Heart, and Isaac’s Heart. This new quest and new quest items sound shockingly familiar to the current succubus summon quest called Hearts of the Pure where you need to gather Dalin’s Heart and Comar’s Heart.
This is going to be an odd change if they add it because TBC Classic is using all of the old models, while the Incubus was created using retail appearance, so it would look really out of place looking all polished compared to the rest of the TBC models.
So it is likely they will downgrade the resolution to fit in to TBC Classic.
Similar to the adding of the Incubus, Male Models of the Karazhan Concubine were added called Zealous Consort, and Concubines were actually removed from the game entirely replaced by Zealous Paramour. There were also Wanton Hosts added to the game which are male versions of the Wanton Hostesses.
Not only were these changes made in Karazhan though, in Black Temple the Den of Mortal Delights saw similar changes with many male versions of the female only mobs being added. Temple Concubine was renamed to Temple Acolyte and male versions were added, and so on. So if you never raided BT back in the day, no temple concubine for you.
These changes feel very similar to what happened in September of this year where Blizzard changed a few paintings: a woman turned into a bowl of fruit and a robed woman received added additional undergarments.
All of these changes might have you wondering – WHY? Couldn’t the time and effort be used on combatting problems like botting, fixing bugs, fixing servers from dying off and creating a few megaservers?
It seems like more changes like these are to come with the new 2021 Activision Blizzard.
Not only were these changes made, but there are also changes to RAIDS in the PTR.
Notably, the bridge to Vashj and the force fields to Kael are open upon entering both SSC and TK on the PTR. This is definitely something new and whether it’s a PTR testing only change, or if this is another nerf to the raids for Phase 3 – we aren’t totally certain.
Also announced in a blue post is that SSC and TK Attunements are going to be removed next week! So if you’ve been putting off getting attuned for Season of Mastery, or you have an alt that you just don’t want to farm that rep for, rejoice, starting next week you can do both raids without doing the attunement.
And the last notable change so far from the data for patch 2.5.3 is that there may be a new text to speech accessibility feature coming to tbc classic. It’s not in the PTR yet, but in the data for the patch there appears to be hints that it will be added.
