Modern AAA game developers for the most part are no longer interested in customer satisfaction.

They don't care about things like player agency, choice and letting the gamer shape their experience. Games are simply a tool for these people to push their own worldview, it's kind of like them loving listening to the sound of their own voice as that's what the game represents.
