Similarly to E1M1, mastering the shotgun timing is the key to mastering this map - as well as strafe-running properly. Pressing the buttons on the floor to unlock the secret by the blue key can be tricky depending on monster movement. Clearing the secret itself quickly is another key area to save (or lose) time. Making the cacodemon, the shotgunners, and the pinkies in-fight in such a small room is somewhat difficult.

After some practice, it's easy to get between 1m30 and 1m40. To go below 1m30, however, requires a ridiculous amount of good RNG. In this run I had some good RNG, which allowed me to get 1m28, despite making some mistakes. Without those some mistakes. Without those mistakes, it should be possible to reach 1m24. I just can't be bothered to grind this level more just to get super-lucky RNG again.
