♫ VAMPIRE KILLER 2K2 (Castlevania: HoD) SNES Arrangement - NintendoComplete
397This is my arrangement of "VK2K2," a track by Michiru Yamane from Konami's 2002 Game Boy Advance game Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. I have arranged it for native playback on SNES hardware, and the audio was recorded directly from a launch-model SNES console.
Vampire Killer is an iconic track that seems to age as least as well as Masahiro Sakurai :D No matter how many times it gets remixed, it never gets old!
This version is a remixed mash-up of Vampire Killer and the clock tower theme from Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, and I thought that it was a pretty fun mix. The only problem with it was that the sound quality in Harmony of Dissonance was piss poor for the GBA. It sounded like an NES game, but it was really unpleasantly sharp to the ear. I went with heavy brass, organs, deep bass, and a pretty aggressive snare to make this, and though I didn't use Konami instruments, I think it manages to hold on to that Castlevania feel.
And really, I never could get enough of awesome keychanges in 80s pop music, so I was weirdly excited when I heard them incorporated into Vampire Killer!
The versions of Vampire Killer that already exist on the SNES in Super Castlevania IV (https://youtu.be/jd7P7niYimk ) and Dracula X (https://youtu.be/ZGQcMr2JGE0 ) are amazing, and just as with my mix of Theme of Simon (https://youtu.be/QFigmsJL04o ), I'm not trying to compete at all with Konami's work. I'm merely offering up my own personal reinterpretation of a cool track on old school hardware. I hope you like it!
