Being the second variant of what was one of the most powerful fighters during the Second World War, the F4U-1a Corsair acts as a deadly high speed energy fighter in War Thunder that handles much like its historical counterpart.

Whilst lacking maneuverability at low to mid-speeds (i.e. 400 km/h or less), beyond these speeds the plane excels in dogfights, turning well and able to climb or dive away when necessary to maintain an energy advantage. Add the impressive durability of the plane to this, and you have one of the most dangerous energy fighters for its Battle Rating of 3.0.
