Continuing with this week's Corsair review extravaganza, we move onto the F4U-1d, the fourth mainstream production variant of the F4U Corsair. Essentially a 1a with a more powerful engine and a higher rank, the plane faces stronger competition which can outclass its climb rate significantly.

As a result, boom and zoom is your main prerogative, yet one has to be careful to skim the fringes of the battlefield, looking for potential targets to dive on and make fast, clean sweeps before continuing to fly away in order to shake off any potential pursuers. Additionally, the monstrous durability of the Corsair shines with the 1d, allowing you to take rather excessive punishment over the course of a given game.
