War Thunder: Yak-3 - Keeping it low
26Being a feared low to mid-altitude fighter in reality, the Yak-3 revels itself at altitudes of 4000m or less, being able to climb with most of its foes and able to either out-run or out-turn any opponent it may face.
In order to have such a maneuverable and deadly aircraft, there are a number of compromises, including but not limited to: low ammunition count, a weak armament for tackling heavily armed and armoured targets, and a lacking durability. Still, there are many at this plane's Battle Rating that can deal with bombers more effectively, and so this plane acts to suppress those who wish to climb to higher altitudes at the start of a game.
