Kogasa is another attacker who works better against a solo Crystal Guardian. Killing the Guardian second last with Kogasa is pretty hard for two reasons: 1) Kogasa can accidentally kill the remaining Crystals with Surprising Flash / Drizzling Large Raindrops and; 2) Kogasa really needs HVY and TRR active, and trying to inflict both of those while also holding back the Earth / Water Crystal AND swapping Kogasa in and out safely.
You'll want Reisen to lower the Guardian's resistances, Eirin to inflict HVY and Kasen to inflict TRR. Maribel can technically inflict TRR too, but Maribel really needs Strategist and a First Aid Kid. Kasen can be Subclassed as Toxicologist to increase her TRR's duration. EDIT: I equipped Strange Meat Pie but it apparently doesn't increase the success rate for Kasen's skill, so Kasen can be given a different Main Equip instead. Thanks to BlazingTrailer for pointing this out!
You'll want to inflict those HVY and TRR ailments about two turns before the Guardian uses Dark Star. If you're lucky, it will stick, the boss will use Dark Star and Kogasa will be ready to annihilate the boss with Aya's help.
Kogasa's maxed out damage is... honestly not that high. She's definitely not beating Yuugi or Patchouli in numbers. Setting up HVY and TRR is also kind of annoying. On the plus side, if you set those two ailments up, Kogasa becomes a fairly self-sufficient attacker. You'll still need a Herb of Awakening, but she'll buff herself when hitting TRR-ified enemies, she can also pull herself out of trouble due to Drizzling Large Raindrops' delay (6600, which is crazy short considering the damage).
I didn't test all the Subclasses, but Kogasa is able to use Warrior pretty decently. Gambler increases damage and it also increases the MP cost (though MP is not really a problem for Kogasa). Transcendent increases stats and gives a 10% damage increase / reduction. Warrior also has a 10% damage increase (though only at full HP) but it also comes with a 30% damage increase to Drizzling Large Raindrops via Enhanced Row Attack.
Kogasa wouldn't be my first choice for this fight, but she's surprisingly viable.
