WedSNESday: Let's Play E.V.O.: Search for Eden
This week on WedSNESday, Luke & Matt take to the seas and trade lungs for gills as they embark on a journey of evolution in E.V.O. - the Enix title that was spore before there was Spore. Taking on the role of a particularly hungry fish, Luke is behind the controller and chompin' jellies for a chance to get his evolution on - because he doesn't want to be late to the party with Gaia.
E.V.O.: Search for Eden (46億年物語 はるかなるエデンへ) is a side scrolling action game developed by Almanic and published by Enix in 1992 in Japan, then 1993 in North America for the Super Nintendo Entertainment system. it portrays an intelligence moving through the stages of evolution throughout billions of years. From Fish, to dinosaur, to mammal.
The game's central mechanic surrounds the player's ability to freely evolve their character by adding new traits like more powerful jaws, arms and legs for faster speed or more versatility, and other powerful evolutions that both give customizability but allows the player to tailor their experience.
WedSNESday is the Level 0 NPCs weekly series where we play one older game for one episode, just to relive the nostalgia and maybe make your hump day just a little bit more fun.
