WedSNESday: Let's Play Legend
This week, on WedSNESday, Matt & Luke play the beefiest of beefy medieval fighters: Legend. Not to be mistaken with the film starring a young Tom Cruise, Legend puts Luke into the furry boots and codpiece of a warrior on a crusade to defeat Clovis, corrupt prince of the kingdom of Sellech as he attempts to reawaken the power of the dark lord Beldor the Maleficent. It's one of those games.
Legend was developed by Arcade Zone, and published by Seika in 1994 for the Super NES, with a sequel released later on Playstation. It is a belt-scrolling beat 'em up in the vein of many arcade titles of its era, set in a Hyborea-esque medieval setting. It was the passion project of a 2-man team of Carlo Perconti and Lyes Belaidouni, founders of Toka, and is also very similar to another Arcade Zone title: Iron Commando.
WedSNESday is the Level 0 NPCs weekly series where we play one older game for one episode, just to relive the nostalgia and maybe make your hump day just a little bit more fun.
