Family trauma (and narcissism) is something most of us have experienced.
It isn't shocking to hear someone say they have experienced childhood trauma, inter-generational trauma, family narcissism, or family trauma. It's more of a "natural" occurrence than we may think.
The sad reality is that emotional manipulation can frequently occur in families with trauma -- causing everyone to shift into many unhealthy patterns of behavior.
One such pattern of behavior is emotional extortion. Another form of manipulation is emotional abuse.
In this video, I discuss patterns of emotional abuse and manipulation that you may have experienced in your own family.
