What if Kevin Keegan stayed in England?
Kevin Keegan was one of the biggest names in English football in the 1970s and plied his trade at Liverpool. Liverpool were on the cusp of becoming European champions multiple times under the likes of Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan. But Keegan left Anfield, he left for the Bundesliga and Hamburger SV, who were about to enter a purple patch themselves. Keegan wouldn’t taste European gold in Germany, the Ballon d’Or winner returning to England prior to the 1983 European Cup final win over Juventus.
