About this video: Discord recently added in a section to everyone’s server settings called the ‘App Directory’. If you are anything like me, you were very interested in this new section as Discord already had apps. They were just called bots.
Well, that’s what you will find in the Discord App directory - Discord bots. I guess that bots have now been given a brand new name within the Discord app itself.
This means that you are no longer going to have to go to random third party sites in order to find and add bots to your Discord server. You can do everything directly from Discord and the App Directory.
Overall, I think this is a great addition to Discord. The reason being that by adding apps directly and featuring them right within Discord itself, you will be able to download apps easily and even get help with apps easier.
You can also see the featured commands, permissions, and paid plans right on the app’s directory page. To top it all off, for premium apps, you can pay directly within Discord which keeps things more trustworthy than paying for a boron a random website.
Lastly, you can also new easily remove these Discord Apps if they are installed via the App Directory in the ‘Integrations’ section in your Discord server settings. This is great as it could get overwhelming previously trying to keep track off all the bots and Discord apps you have installed.
Closing things out, I’m glad that Discord has starting support bots directly even if they did decide it was important to rename them to be called apps. What do you think about the Discord app directory? Let us know in the comments!
