Why did people not like the XBOX GAMES SHOWCASE? Was it really a failure or not? [Part 1] (2020)

The big question for today’s video is: why did most people HATE July 2020's Xbox Games Showcase? Was it actually that much bad?

I already made a very long analysis of the whole Halo Infinite demo in my previous video, so I’m not going to repeat what I already expressed, but there are four major details about the expectations this game had, before the show, that I forgot to mention, so here they are:
• First point: after five years of development people expected the game to excell in every way possible
• Second point: the E3 2018 and 2019 trailers did actually look insane, as the graphics and the art style were highly hinting at the final product to look the most immersive experience ever in the franchise
• Third point: just before the demo, they showed us a CGI trailer, and as dumb as it sounds, I thought that it was running in engine, and of course when I saw the graphics I was let down
• Final and fourth point: this game will have to run on the originale 2013 Xbox One, that was already outdated as soon as it released, and making Halo Infinite cross-gen was for sure the biggest mistake.
After Halo Infinite there was a short CGI trailer for State of Decay 3. I’m not much a zombie guy, in fact I wasn’t really interested in that, but I know this game has a fanbase, so it’s good to see a new one coming out in the future.
We have actual confermation that the new Forza Motorsport is in development, and they showed us a very early build that features mindblowing graphics! So, if you were looking for a real next-gen looking game on the Xbox Series X: Forza is for sure one of them!
After Forza there was a brand new Everwild trailer from Rare. This game is about “bonding with nature” or something along those lines, but without actual gameplay being shown , we can’t quite make out an opinion wether or not we would like to play it!
Going to the next announcement we have “Tell me why”, which is one of those narrative only focused games. I really am not into these kind of games because I like when games have a complete total package comprehensive of actual gameplay. The same exact thing can be said about “As Dusk Falls”, I really wasn’t interested in seeing these two “tv show like games”.
Ori and The Will of The Wisps is getting a free upgrade for Xbox Series X that will feature 120 FPS! I haven’t played yet any Ori game, but it is one of those that I will not miss out on for sure, so I’m very happy for this upgrade!
After this announcement started a section of the show dedicated to OBSIDIAN entertainment! The first thing to be announced was the DLC plan for The Outer Worlds, starting off with Peril on Gorgon.
The Outer Worlds is an amazing role playing game! But honestly it didn’t quite stick on me personally, I played it a few days and never continued it. But regardless, I still think it’s phenomenal and I’m very happy that they are still supporting it, it’s just not for me!
Then, the little OBSIDIAN game project “Grounded” had a very funny trailer and since July 28 it is in early access on Steam and Xbox!
To close the OBSIDIAN segment it was announced the next big RPG they are making, called Avowed! This trailer got me very excited as I am a great fan of the Elder Scrolls series, and I really want to know more about what can Avowed offer!
Moving on from OBSIDIAN we’ve seen a little talk about Hellblade 2.
Hellblade is one of those amazing games that I still have to play, and the first reveal of Hellblade 2 back in December was confirmed to actually having been rendered in engine and running on an Xbox Series X!
PsychoNauts 2 looks over the top entertainment, and I really want to play it! They even hired Jack Black to play one of the themes! It’s going to be so good come on!
Thank you for watching, smash like if you enjoyed and subscribe for more videos! :)
