Welcome back inside the Hidden Odd Box for Part 2 of the Xbox Games Showcase!

Games featured:
- Destiny 2 and DLCs on Gamepass
- Stalker 2
- Warhammer 40000 Dark Tide
- Tetris Effect Connected
- The Gunk
- The Medium
- New Genesis Phantasy Star Online 2
- Crossfire X
- Fable

In Part 1 we left right after PsychoNauts 2, so let’s start now with the next annoucement: Destiny 2 with all the DLCs, coming to Game Pass!
Having all of the DLCs in game pass means that if you didn’t buy them before, and you are subscribed to GamePass, you naw have a humongous increase in content and story to play, which of course is awesome.

The next announcement immediately gave me Metro vibes. Little tangent: I did not play the first two Metro games, but man I absolutely loved Metro Exodus, so, as soon as this trailer started I was already sold! The atmosphere of this trailer is on point, you can really feel the post-apocalypse in every scene. As the title screen appeared my little brother lost his mind, as he always regarded the first Stalker as a great game!

There is not a better expanded universe than Warhammer 40.000, and having this game being shown at the Xbox Game showcase got me super pumped for the new console! Warhammer 40000 is a Sci-fi, Grimdark and Fantasy universe in which many many interesting factions fight in an endless war. I’ve been waiting for a shooter of 40k to come out on Xbox forever, and I really got happy thanks to this one announcement!

After Dark Tide it was announced that, Tetris Effect, with its all new multiplayer expansion “Connected” will come out on Xbox Series X as a limited time exclusive, and while it’s been many years since I played a Tetris game I’m really glad to see a big classic like Tetris at this important Xbox event.

The next announcement was a game called “The Gunk”, that looks to be a platform and logic game, but I don’t really have any strong opinion about this because not much was actually shown.

Moving on we have another look at “The Medium”, which is a very revolutionary horror game, as it simultaneously renders two connected worlds in which the player must overcome various challenges.

After The Medium was shown aaa “DLC” I believe, for “New Genesis Phantasy Star Online 2”. I don’t know anything about this game apart from the fact that it looks like a Monster Hunter sci-fi anime thing, which doesn’t really interest me, but I know these games have a big following, so it’s good that it was at the show.

We are getting close to the end as Crossfire X is shown in an amazing Campaign trailer. I got absolute Crysis vibes looking at this trailer, and since the Campaign is being made by Remedy Entertainment I’m really excited to see how this story will play out! Also, this game was in-engine too, so that’s another display of the power offered by Xbox Series X.

Fable is being rebooted for Series X and I could not be happier for this! I only played the third one, and to be honest III don’t really remember much of it other than the amazing humor, the unique fantasy setting, the awesome RPG elements and the story being so good. In fact, I plan on playing the original trilogy as soon as I can through GamePass, and I know it’s going to be awesome.

So, based on what I’ve said, one announcement was disappointing , I didn’t care much for seven games , but I appreciated five games, really liked the announcements for Forza Motorsport, Avowed, Hellblade 2, PsychoNauts 2, Stalker 2, Warhammer 40000 Dark Tide and Crossfire X. But FABLE, was really a super special announcement, it’s good to see that this great title hasn’t been forgotten, and I hope it’s not the only one to return swinging!

Personally, I really enjoyed this show!
But we have yet a question to answer, why the hate the Xbox Games Showcase? I think there are two reasons for that:

• The first, plain and simple: Halo Infinite failed the hype.
• The second reason: At E3 all the companies showed everything at once, all the games, all the release dates, all the prices for new hardware and that was it. Instead, having these little events being spread around means that they announce little things in everyone of them…
