Why Far Cry 4 is Such an Underrated Masterpiece (A Game Discussion Video)
Developed and Published by Ubisoft, Far Cry 4 released during the first part of last generation for a handful of systems (PlayStations 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One) and PC.
Taking place after the wildly successful Far Cry 3, which takes place on a couple of tropical islands in Southeast Asia, Far Cry 4 instead chose the fictional country of Kyrat as its setting (based loosely on the real-life country of Nepal).
Despite having very large shoes to fill (due mostly to memorable Far Cry 3 antagonist Vaas Montenegro and the newly-revamped gameplay), Far Cry 4 attempted to differentiate itself from its predecessor in quite a few ways…but was still accused of “not doing much to drive the franchise forward”.
As a fan of both games, I feel that Far Cry 4 got a bum wrap, and in this video, I’m going to discuss ways that it differentiated from and actually improved on the formula established by its predecessor.
