I got a Fire HD 8 tablet for Christmas and have been using it a ton! I think most people my age look past tablets and just do these things on their phone, but I've found the bigger screen to be a big enhancement.

So far I've like using it to:
- Watch streaming services including the live TV Locast app I mentioned
- Playing a few games, like the Pokemon TCG
- Reading old video game magazine scans

I really enhanced this tablet from the crappy stock Amazon UI and Amazon app store to be more like a regular Android tablet. I was able to do this with the Fire Toolbox on my computer.
