8It's time for more Loop Hero, where I get to pick up the pieces after showing chat just what happens when you think you're tough enough to take on the Lich. This time we focus on some town upgrades before defeating the first boss, take a peek into Act 2, and eventually make another dive with the Rogue. Of course, the fun thing about the Rogue is its two bladed swagger walk around the loop. Burst damage and killing before being killed are the name of the game, but it's going to take some RNG falling in our favor to make it out the other side of this one.

Loop Hero is another indy hit in the making for publisher Devolver Digital. Four Quarters has really knocked it out of the park here, with a game that is part auto-battler part city builder part roguelite and part story driven madness. And yet together it's all more than the sum of its parts. The graphics are gorgeous and modern in their 2D glory. The game play is intense despite being able to pause in a way I haven't felt since FTL: Faster Than Light. It's good. Go get Loop Hero.
