Thank you for choosing Starsector as the next viewer's choice series! Today we start off with a targeted approach to the tutorial missions (mainly to get viewers up to speed who may not be familiar with the game) by selecting the Hammerhead as our starting ship. It's a bruiser that is capable of punching above its weight class and a great way to get your feet under you in the sector.

I do kind of speed through some of the tutorials, but if you've watched this channel before you'll know my preference is to teach things in context. So while the start of this game may be familiar, just know that we're setting the table for when the game opens up. Because it's about to open up. Wide. Get ready. This is gonna be fun.

Starsector is a game where you get together a squad of spaceships and try to carve your own place out in the stars. Will you turn a profit from trade? Or how about shoot down some pirates to defend a fringe colony? Bounty hunting sound good, or how about becoming a pirate yourself and turning the tables? The galaxy is open to you, just be wary of any AI you might bump into along the way. Although this game is still in Alpha and in deep development, this is one of the greatest games I have ever played and I am very excited it won the viewer's choice selection. The mechanics are deep. The lore is interesting. And once you get your feet wet there are all sorts of mods out there to play with.

Speaking of mods, this play through is a slightly modded version, adding more face choices and some extra dialogue boxes during combat. No mods have been included that fundamentally change how the game is played mechanically (despite some REALLY NICE quality of life mods being out there).
