In this video I look at why new players quit BDO in higher numbers than I've seen in other MMO's.


I believe that is the New Player Experience that is to blame
- Stage 1: Character creation, graphics, and combat are incredible
- Stage 2: Overwhelmed stage. Learning about all the content BDO has to offer and getting better gear. Also cash shop basics (Pets)
- Stage 3: Endgame is a long way away. Pearl shop is where modern MMO mechanics were removed from Black Desert and sold back to players. Grinding is life. Computer on 24/7

Stage 3 (and the amount of progression required to reach endgame) is where most newbies that I talk to seem to quit. While a fair number quit earlier than this and there are certainly vets who quit later after they're no longer new, the majority of newbies seem to quit at this stage.
