Rumours abound that Sony might be looking to axe the online stores for the PlayStation 3, PSP, and PS Vita over the summer. Naturally, this made me think of Demon's Souls, because, why not?


Sony Interactive Entertainment's CEO Jim Ryan has made it clear that he's not a fan of backwards compatibility in gaming; or, indeed, in re-releasing older games in their original form. The company does dabble with providing support for legacy games, but they don't always fully commit, sometimes with embarrassing results.


The good news is that consumers are often eager to step in to fix Sony's mistakes. Sony doesn't like that very much, but such is life.
