Speculation is rife as fans of Xbox and Nintendo wonder if a partnership could be on the horizon: could Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass be coming to Nintendo Switch?

Thus far, rumours and guesswork is all we have to go on, as the primary evidence for such a plan is that Head of Xbox Phil Spencer seems to have deliberately placed a Nintendo Switch on a shelf behind him as part of a livestream broadcast in February. This hasn't stopped fans from trying to guess what Spencer might be hinting at.

While speculation on this Xbox/Nintendo partnership is indeed simple speculation, it does beg the question: if such a deal were to bring Xbox Game Pass to Switch, how would that work? After all, the Switch is not designed to run half of the Xbox games that Microsoft has included in the Game Pass up to this point.
